Major Flex-Fuel Push in India
In a massive move to reduce carbon emissions and decrease reliance on crude oil imports, the central government has announced a sweeping set of subsidies for E85 flex-fuel vehicles.
Starting in 2026, buyers of E85-compatible cars and motorcycles will receive direct cash incentives and tax breaks, making flex-fuel vehicles significantly cheaper than standard petrol models.
What Does This Mean For You?
If you are planning to buy a new car or bike, it is highly recommended to look for Flex-Fuel (FFV) variants. With E85 fuel priced around ₹65 per liter, the running costs will plummet.
